NORTH BERGEN - State Sen. Nicholas Sacco will not be facing ethics charges for allegedly harassing a former worker in North Bergen more than eight years ago.

Lydia Coleman, Sacco's accuser, says he sent her intimidating messages after she rejected his sexual advances. After keeping her silence for more than eight years, Coleman finally came forward with her story and filed a complaint in December 2011. She says she stayed quiet for so long out of fear.

The ethics committee says that as disturbing as the allegations against Sacco are, Coleman waited far too long to file her complaint. In order for Sacco to face charges, her complaint needed to be filed within two years.

Coleman says she has no plans to pursue further legal action.
